Ohlone Curriculum
HAHS offers two ways to explore the story of our Ohlone community in your classroom!
Our new updated online Ohlone Curriculum explores ten topic areas about Ohlone peoples past and present. Included is text, images, and videos embedded in a short, seamless slideshow presentation. Each section comes with question and answer worksheets and additional extension activities. Also included is a vocabulary list, pronunciation guide, and additional resources for students and teachers alike. This curriculum has been updated with assistance from consultants with the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe and scholars and is designed to conform with the 3rd and 4th grade History/Social Studies content standards.
Use of the curriculum is grant funded and currently free of charge. Send an email to education@haywardareahistory.org and tell us your name, school, grade level, and approximate number of students who will use the materials* and we’ll send you the link to the curriculum. Access to the curriculum will be live for two weeks.
The curriculum can be used on its own or in conjunction with our Ohlone Discovery Kit which includes hands-on objects, games, music, maps, and additional activities. Interested in learning more about the Discovery Kit, click here.
