This year’s totally free and fun filled Independence Day Celebration at Meek Park will be held on Sunday, July 2 from 11am to 3pm.  The well-known community symbol and residence of the Meek Family will be open to the public for walk-through tours.  Grab some lunch at the local food vendor booths, pull out those picnic blankets, and enjoy the sounds of Johnny Mahalo and the Wild Coconuts.  There will be outdoor games, patriotic crafts, face painting, community groups, and festivities for the whole family.  Join the Hayward Area Historical Society in celebrating this wonderful occasion!
